Precious Containers

For technology we created and designed some precious containers.

We drew a plan of our containers in our topic books showing labels on the side of materials we needed.  We were restricted by Mrs Evans with time and materials.

We got to choose three materials that we brought from home.  On Wednesday afternoon we got out our bits and bobs and started to make our precious containers.  It was lots of fun.  

Room 2 Folk Dancing

We just completed a fantastic folk dancing display.  We preformed two dances to our parents and caregivers.  The first dance was a modified Greek dance and the famous YMCA.  We had lots of fun practicing. Hopefully when we have our Greek meal next term we will be able to do some more Greek dancing.  Watch this space! 

NEW GAMES

New Games

The Clifton Terrace School Home and School Committee has worked very hard fund raising.  Thank you to Home and School parents and caregivers.  Their generous response has been to provide each classroom with $300 each to spend on educational games to help us with our learning.  Room 2 is featured here playing with some of our new games.  :-)

Keeping Ourselves Safe

We have been learning about Keeping Ourselves Safe. This has involved visits from Constable O'Donoven. In our photo you can see us working in small groups learning about different types of touch.

Room 2 Comics

Room 2 students had lots of fun retelling a traditional story in a comic strip format. Our learning intentions included correct punctation such as using speech marks, questions etc. These are called surface features. Our deeper features involved the use of direct speech which is easily seen in our comics. Do you like our speech bubbles? We also tried to include verbs to make our writing more exciting and interesting. Now please sit back and enjoy our work and read as much as you would like. Cheers :-)

Harold arrived at our school assembly 9am on Monday morning. It was a lovely surprise and exciting watching Harold dancing and jigging about. Unfortunately he was unable to speak to us. Later this week we plan to visit the Life Education bus and visit Harold. We will learn about being happy and healthy with an emphasis on our feelings.
