On Friday the 3rd of December 2010 we had a coin trail to raise money for the miners families. We raised a fantastic $500.40!!! After our enormous effort, we then hopped into the car during lunch time and drove off to the Westpac Bank to deposit our money into the miners account.
Thank you to all the families that helped us raise this money.

On Wednesday the 10 november our class went outside to do some ball skills with Helen. We practiced accuracy using underarm throws using tennis balls. Next we played a little game where we quickly ran up to a line, then roll the ball into a hoop. The best bit was getting two points.

On the 9th of November a kakapo visited Clifton Terrace School. The whole school peered through the conservatory windows at the kakpo. Kalibe gave it a crisp kumera to eat. The kakapo had beautiful swampy green feathers and it was great.

Winter Sports - By Grace and Bo

On the twenty fourth of August the Senior Syndicate went to winter sports. The teachers were in a rush. It was a really hot and a perfect day for sport. The senior syndicate had to have lunch early and then leave for the bus. When the buses got there everyone split up into groups. It was exhausting, everybody needed a drink. The sports were soccer, netball, table tennis, rugby, mini-ball and hockey. On one bus was netball and soccer and on the other bus was table tennis, mini-ball and hockey. When the buses got back to school, everybody went back to their classes. It was a great day and everyone had fun.

Sports by Sophie and Rebecca

Last week the sports leadership group taught Room 2 some different sports. The games they taught us were, Square tag, Builders and Bulldozers. This is how you play Builders and Bulldozers. You have to have about 10 people. Split them into even groups then you get some cones and spread them out up and down. You want to turn them over, however you can't turn 2 over at the same time. There was a variety of games that we could play. This is how you play Square tag. We have about 10 people. It is just tag but the squares are home.

Java Dance Company

We had the pleasure of watching a very special dance and mime company performance. Have a go, yes you can do it. It was fantastic having the opportunity watching Gina a past student from C.T.S. as an adult performer. I am sure our recent Production will motivate some of us in Room 2 to also make a career out of dance and drama in the future.

Thank you :-)

Room 2 would like to thank all parents and caregivers who helped up make our costumes by supervising our cutting of leaves and gluing leaves to our costumes. Enjoy our photos and check out the rest of the school website for more production pictures.

"A Big Green Adventure"

Room 2 has lovely taking part in our school production. We featured as trees, in scene 2. This scene involved "talking trees" and we all sang a song "It Doesn't Pay to be a Tree today" with dance movements. Enjoy looking at our photos showing our costumes and make up.

LAPTOPS

We think our laptops are great. Look at the photos of us all researching and activating prior knowledge. We had three steps. The first was to identify what we know. The second was to ask the question about what we want to find out. Last of all we used our laptops to find our answers for our learning.

LIFE EDUCATION BUS

We had fun with HAROLD learning about what we should eat and about the digestive process. It was exciting having HAROLD visit us at the Junior Assembly.

It was cool digging in the sand, washing against the waves, taking a long walk and having team fun at the great C.T.S. picnic day. Can you find our Room 2 friends with their buddies in our pictures?
